It generated their profits.,,,,,,,,Just take an example...........microsoft is famous name in IT industry worldwide,......and was #1 until 2007......after that Google...takes the #1 spot....Do you know,How?.....Most people knows about Brand Google just due to.....Google's Search Engine.But the company provides many other services, like Google Adsense and Google Adwords.The two mentioned services are for publishers and advertisers.Now, you wanna know how Google makes profit out of it....Well if somebody(advertiser) wanna give his ad..then he has to pay some money to Google.Google will dispaly those ads in his various services.......like gmail,orkut,.....of course via search engine. when somebody clicks on ads link....a new window will be opened and thats it.....google generates his revenue..........now talking about publisher side...publishers are those people those having some website/blog....so that Google can display ads on them.When somebody clicks on ads..Google gives a portion of his profit..thats it
